Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day! We had a picnic on the beach with our ward and invited our neighbors, the Nego Family. It was a lot of fun! Then after a long day of beach fun we came home and I made baby back ribs with cooked vegetables. I try to take the kids out every evening during the retreat. Tonight was no different and I love seeing my kids put their hands over their hearts. I love teaching them the pledge of allegiance. I want them to be patriotic and to love this country like Kyle and I do. For those that don't know since we live on base every morning at 6:30am they raise the flag (relvelrie) and every evening at 5:00pm except Thursday at 3:00 pm they take down the flag (retreat). I love when I time it just right and I walk out of the commissary at 5:00pm to see everyone stopped with their hands over their hearts. It's AH-mazing! I love it! I'm grateful for my sweet husband who's helped fight for this free country that God has given to us! I'm grateful for all the other soldiers who've given their lives and who have served. The other night Kyle and I learned a friend from BOLC died in Afghanistan from an IED and it made me feel so sad for his sweet wife and children. I thought of them today as I watched Kyle play at the beach with the kids and how blessed I am to have my husband with me today. Kyle and I have talked about his deployment and he's had to seen some things and do things that I would never want to do. I love how willing Kyle is to lay down his life for others and how he wants to protect me and the children. He's such a wonderful Husband, Father, & Soldier. I love him so much and I can't imagine this life without him. I'm grateful that death will not stop us from being together.....

Marry

Tonight Casey kept insisting he wanted to marry Lexi in the Temple. I kept telling him they're siblings and WILL NOT get married but he wouldnt listen. Hopefully he'll change his mind. Bahahaha.

I see London, I see France, I see Libertys underpants!
What a silly little girl! I don't know how she even climbed up some of the steps with her pajama bottoms dangling at her ankles.

Casey & Lexi funny sayings

The kids were taking a bath and I realized how dark they were so I said to Lexi and Casey "Casey is dark. Lexi is dark. Liberty is dark. Mommy is dark. What color is daddy?
Lexi looked up at me and replied "uhhh....daddy is white."

Casey has been learning if things don't eat food they die. Today we got cheesecake for everybody to share and Lexi didn't finish hers so Casey got worried that she wasn't eating enough food. He said to Kyle "Lexi not finish her cake."
Kyle said "we should stop eating when we're full so we don't get fat."
Casey stood up and popped his stomach out as far as he could and said "like this?!"

military appreciation day at the zoo

We went to the Honolulu Zoo last weekend because the zoo was letting all military in for FREE. We took it upon ourselves to go have some fun for...free. We got lunch served for free along with ice cream and drink.

Liberty was hungry and was pretty hungry so she got really mad...

but she calmed down when we gave her watermelon. It was her first time and she loved it.

Casey and Lexi had a lot of fun petting the goat.

Red, White & Blue!!

I LOVE the colors Red, White & Blue! I'm looking forward to the 4th of July! As you can tell I got really excited and bought the kids Red, White & Blue outfits...one for swimming, one for everyday play and one for sleep. I'm kind of obsessed.

Temple Trip

For Family Home Evening we decided to take the kids to the Laie Temple. We've talked to the kids a lot about the temple and they've gone there once before so we decided to take them again and we hope to go more in the future so they can see the importance of Temples. We went inside the visitors center and Casey loved looking at the statue of Jesus. He looked up at him and whispered in my ear "Mommy, Jesus is so big." It was adorable!
After we went to the Temple we were craving some coconuts so we stopped on the side of the road and got some coconuts along with mangos and papayas!
Liberty fell asleep holding her food!

Mothers Day

I had such a wonderful mothers day. In Sacrament meeting I got to see my little boy go up on stage and sing to me! That was one of the greatest gifts Casey could give to me for mothers day. When Casey was up there I remembered when I was pregnant with him and looking forward to the day my children would be singing during sacrament meeting and it came true! It was so fun and crazy to think I had a child old enough to be up there! I loved it! For breakfast Kyle made me german pancakes and the night before he made me steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus! It was so yummy! We also got our new washer and dryer delivered to us on Saturday (the day before mothers day) which we ordered 2 months before so I told Kyle that counted as my mothers day gift! After church Casey gave me a flower and he opened up his scripture bag and said "Mommy I not forget your card." It was so sweet! The best gifts my kids can give to me are the homemade gifts!!  I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful day! I know I wouldn't be half the mother I am without the guidance and example of my own mother! And I also want to thank my wonderful husband who made it possible for me to be a mother! :)

debt free

Last month we finally got the title to our car! We were so happy! We took out a 6 year loan and paid it off in 11 months. We know we saved ourselves hundreds if not thousands of dollars by paying it off as soon as we could. Now we're debt free! It feels so good to be debt free again!
